It is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the Sacraments in the Catholic Church as channels of Divine Grace instituted by Jesus Christ for our sanctification. These Sacraments are Baptism, Confirmation, Eucharist, Reconciliation, Anointing of the Sick, Holy Orders, and Matrimony. The Seven Sacraments touch all the stages and all the important moments of Christian life (Catechism of the Catholic Church 1210)
BECOME A PART OF OUR FAMILY
To celebrate your child's Baptism, First Communion, Confirmation, or to get Married at St. Theresa, these Sacraments require you to be a parishioner of St. Theresa Church. Please stop in or call the Rectory at your earliest convenience so we may meet you and have you register in our Parish Community. We encourage everyone to join our faith filled community and partake in the Blessing of the Sacraments.
OUR DIOCESE WILL BE RESTORING THE ORDER IN WHICH THE SACRAMENTS OF INITIATION - BAPTISM, CONFIRMATION, FIRST EUCHARIST - ARE CELEBRATED.
Over the next few years, the standard age of Confirmation is going to be third grade throughout the Diocese of Manchester, and Confirmation will be celebrated before, not after, First Eucharist. This practice restores Confirmation to its original place. Through this process, the three Sacraments of Christian Initiation return to the logical order in which they were designed to be received: first Baptism, then Confirmation, then Eucharist. It also restores the practice of administering the Sacraments of Christian Initiation to young children as early as possible. Our parish has a plan for an implementation schedule, as well as a renewed vigor for implementing this change within the context of Lifelong Faith Formation. This will help us to provide an enriching experience of God's love through the Sacramental life of the Church. For more information on these important changes click the button below.
